Kez went to her first birthday party in April. It was Tyler's 3rd birthday and the theme was Clifford:) Sarah made the little Clifford ears.
While she didn't get to eat any cake, Kezzie was pretty pleased with the gift she received! She still loves to chew on it.

Michigan Trip

Kez having some fun with Justin.
And showing Gramps how the new fangled clicker toys work.
Soaking up the sun (and quite a bit of air as well).
Back to Mulberry Street!
Just waking up from a nap and hanging out with Grandma.

Kez and the Tractor

Finally the nice spring days are coming! Kez had her first tractor ride this week. She wasn't scared at all-I think she enjoyed hitting the steering wheel. I think she wanted to drive but Gramps said she has to wait until she is a little older:)

Kezzers
Judah

Couch Sitting

Looking for a good shot.
Judah is wondering why Kezia is laughing so hard.

Judah decides to really cheese it up for the camera:)
Kezzie practicing her newly acquired skill of hair pulling.
At least Isaiah was consistent throughout the whole photo shoot!

All was going great and the kids were fed, cleaned, and ready for bed...
...and then Kezzie tried to eat Isaiah:) (Really she turned to look at him and then got a little stuck trying to hold up his head.)
"What a minute. I suspect something is different about this mouthful."
Kezzie having one of her first "real food" experiences with the banana puffs.

Visit to New Jersey

Kezzie had a great time meeting her new friends Selah, Judah and Isaiah

Daddy Day Care!

Kezzie is going to be so bored when we go home...she won't have anyone to watch! Selah did a great job entertaining her and keeping her fully stocked with toys!

Cute outfits!!

"What's that you ask? Do I like my new Sunday outfit from Uncle Jim and Aunt Betty?"
"HA HA Snort Snort...Of course I do!!!"

She can't quite figure out why she needs to wear this on her head in the house:) Thanks Auntie Carol!
Kez catching up on her Spanish. PJs courtesy of Aunt Jess and Uncle Nate.

"Sometimes when I giggle really hard my cheeks get so big that I can't keep my eyes open!"
Who really needs socks in March?
We took Kezzie out on a rollerblading adventure by the river downtown. We learned a few things: 1. This stroller is not meant for rollerblading, 2. Kezzie was much colder than we were as she was not exerting any energy, 3. She would rather look at the cars driving by than the beautiful river and aquatic life, and 4. Not everyone likes babies.
Bud and I saw a guy with a horse on the trail and we suddenly had great plans. I was thinking "Great! Kezzie will get to sit on this horse and I'll capture this all on camera. What a wonderful mother I will be." Bud vocalized "Maybe she will get to pet the horse." We picked up our pace and headed toward the horse. Eagerly we pointed out the creature to Kez (as we had to manually twist her head away from the way-more-interesting cars). We explained how the horse had a mane and a big tail and eyes and blah blah blah. The man was in a conversation so we kept our comfortable and polite distance.
"Looks like you have a fan," noticed the man-without-a-horse.
Brief glance from the man-with-a-horse.
Bud and Al continue balancing on rollerblades while pointing out the fine features of this horse.
Conversation between the men stops.
Man with horse looks at Bud.
"How you doin'?"
"Very well. And you?" Asks my polite husband.
"Good," man with horse replies and turns and walks away.
I was flabbergasted. I felt like shouting "Don't you see the cute baby?" "Didn't you hear me tell her this is the first time she has seen a horse?" "What is wrong with you?" "Can she touch the horse?" "Can't we even get a picture?"
I turned to Bud with that 'I've-just-been-slapped-across-the-face' look and said, "I guess Kezzie's not getting a picture with the horse."
I was so stunned/mad/hurt/frustrated that I didn't even know what to do. I sulked away (this is hard for the untrained eye to notice when someone is on rollerblades, but have no doubt, it was sulking).
But I'm not mad.
His horse wasn't cool anyway.

And my kid likes cars better.

Please Touch!

Last Wednesday the "Mom Group" (Can't believe I'm part of that club now:) went to the kids' museum downtown-fittingly called the Please Touch Museum. It was unbelievable. There are fun and exciting things to do for toddlers on up to about 12 year olds. I was so impressed I nearly signed up for a membership right then and there.
Kezzie had fun in the under 3 year old section.
At first she had a lot of fun watching the older kids...

Then we discovered the great tree slide...
...and again.
She was pretty entralled with the giant swan...made me a little proud:)

More Please Touch

Sometimes she looks so small:)
Kezzie and her adorable buddy Marlowe had fun ripping up the flower pots and chewing the flowers.
Marlowe is 3 months older than Kez and very mobile. He was scooting around having a blast with all the pots.
Kez on the other hand pretty much waited for the pots to come to her:) She was pretty good at banging them around though.
The flower adventure lasted a remarkalby long time considering her age and general attention span. Over all we had a great day; the kids had a blast and were completely overstimulated. We tucked their tired little heads into their carseats and before we had pulled out of the parking lot we had two sleeping kiddos in the backseat!

She knows he has a ring...but where is it?
There she found it-and has no trouble picking it up.

Yeah for cute clothes!
All ready for church!

Another trip to the mall:)
This is one of my favorite shots. Not only does she have her really goofy smile pasted on, but she is just kickin' it on the chair as if she owns the place:)

The crunch up and giggle.
More couch lounging.

Watching Bud put up the mirrors in her room. Everytime the drill or vacuum starts she nearly jumps out of her skin. But she will never cry...she just has an intense look on her face and she stares at the noise-maker. As soon as the noise is done she goes back to giggling and chomping on whatever is in reach.
She loves taking rides in the laundry basket.

Every morning after Kez wakes up she loves to sit on the couch and eat a toy for awhile.
