More Park Days

She loves to stare at the sky.

Apples and Pants

Kezia has learned that if she reaches on her tip-toes, she can reach the apples on the counter. She is very comfortable helping herself. You would be surprised how many teeth-marked apples I find in the fruit bowl. That's a fair warning for anyone coming to visit!
Also, you may have noticed her trendy little fleece pants in the picture (as I'm sure you did). Who made such hip little things you may ask. That's right...I did:) And trust me, you do NOT want to order them. They are fleece, but turned out to be capris...not really a major fashion trend right now but I can see it coming in some day soon. They are also wide enough to fit 2 children in. The hem line is extremely creative (some would call it crooked) and the top elastic is snug (some would call it bunching and tight). They are officially Kezzie's "around the house" pants/capris. A friend from church so willingly offered to teach me how to sew (all of middle school home ec is LONG forgotten). I don't think she knew what she was getting into. I have three pair of matching pants because of course we cut them all out before actually sewing them. Thankfully she is very handy and found a way to alter the other pairs. They are the first pants I've made so naturally I am a little proud, even though they are atrocious. Kez doesn't seem to mind at all so she wears them at home...every day.
Seven little teeth that require brushing.
There are certain things that as a parent you can only hope to pass on to your children. Thankfully Kezzie has developed a very strong love of shoes, making Bud the odd man out. Actually, she almost has more than Bud does (and she only has 2)! The other day I was cleaning the kitchen and I thought, "My it sounds quiet." I peek around the corner only to notice a VERY proud little girl sitting on top of the shoe rack. Now, these are IKEA built shoe racks, not exactly your state-of-the-art heavy duty things. And it is wobbly. But it has become one of the best investments we have. Every day the shoes are methodically (well, sort of...they are pretty strewn) dumped off the top level and, with some exertion, although she is getting pretty fast, Kezzie clammers up on the rack and smiles goofily for awhile. On good days, she leaves one of her shoes up on the top so she has something to play with for awhile. Then she clammers back down, looks at the shoe rack, and clammers back up. It keeps her occupied for quite awhile. After discovering her the first day, I went back to my dishes, quite proud on the inside that my daughter had discovered this great little way of entertaining herself. I heard the grunts and groans for awhile and continued working. Things got quiet again so I thought I should have a peek, since she is so smart I wanted to make sure that she wasn't crawling up the bookcase or something. But no...I looked around the corner and started laughing again. She was playing peek-a-boo with the actual shoe shelf. I'm not sure if she thought the shelf was enjoying it or what. But she continued covering up her eyes and started yelling "Peek-a-boo" (which does not sound anything like peek-a-boo).

She even loves the thrift store shoes...my kinda girl:)

The latest and greatest use of the diaper basket: a seat for digging through the DVDs.

Park Days 1

It was almost 80 degrees out, sunny, and the end of October-clearly Kezzie and I had to go to the park. As you can see, she consumes amazing amounts of park debris each time we go there.
Everything goes in the mouth. I thought I would just let her go for awhile, hoping she would discover how gross woodchips really are. But no. She actually started biting into smaller pieces so she could swallow it. I'm not sure if she really enjoys the taste, but I'm afraid she might because she was really upset when I took it away.
We go to the park and what is the most fun? The camera case.
She can do the little slide all by herself now!
She spotted a dog and took off after it. Thankfully the owner let us pet the thing or I think I would have had a disaster on my hands. She squealed with delight...as always!

Not quite steady, but standing

Bud has been teaching her more tricks!
She's so excited...apparently this is the way she shows it???

And of course she thinks she is the coolest thing ever. That could be from the amount of applause she gets every time she stands:) Sometimes she even claps for herself...although then she usually falls!
